There are many lakes and rivers located in the area of Grande Prairie that provide hours of fun and fishing for the whole family.

Sturgeon Lake. East of Grande Prairie on Highway 34. 19km east of Valleyview. Pike to 30lbs and Walleye to 5lbs. Perch to 2lbs and Whitefish to 4lbs. Youngs Point Provincial Park.

Wapiti River. Only a few miles south of Grande Prairie. The river starts in British Columbia about 56km west of the border, with many accesses. Pike to 15lbs and Walleye and Bull Trout to 10lbs. Rockies to 3lbs, Grayling to 2lbs.
